(1) …….. The Nepali Consulate or Diplomatic Office may issue a temporary certificate of Nepali nationality to a vessel in the following cases with the prescribed customs.
(a) If the persons who are entitled to own a Nepalese vessel acquire the ownership of a vessel in a foreign port after receiving the recommendation of the Nepalese Shipping Office, the persons acquiring such ownership or any of them shall declare their desire to register the vessel with the Nepalese Shipping Office and issue a temporary certificate of Nepali nationality. (b) If the certificate of registration of a Nepalese vessel is lost or damaged while in a foreign port or if there is any change in the details mentioned in such certificate, the Master (Chief Officer) of the vessel shall apply to the nearest …… for a temporary certificate of Nepali nationality. . If applying at the Nepalese consulate or diplomatic office.
(2) The format of the temporary certificate of nationality shall be as prescribed and the following details shall be disclosed therein:-
(a) Name of the vessel,
(b) the date and place of purchase of the vessel,
(c) the names and addresses of the persons purchasing the vessel,
(d) the name of the Master (Chief Officer), and
(e) Details regarding the tonnage, make and description of the vessel.
